Silk epil éxpressive by Braun

…and now a painful post…

…but now the least painful solution (for me) for an excruciating problem 🙂

If you’re like me, the sworn enemy of every hair that appears on your body, or already have your favorite weapon to eradicate them or are you looking for one, can see an emerging solution 🙂

Why I decided to write about it?
Because I used it for about three years and I am very pleased with it.

Firstly, does the same as the first day and you know that now it’s a rare thing for appliances to withstand many years in working order. Secondly, I am so satisfied that I bought it again (or at least the most similar model when I needed a new one). One third of hair on the legs and forearms, where I use it, is much smaller, I would say even for some 70 percent of the hairs are lighter and thinner than before.

If you think that this method of hair removal is for you too painful can tell you that i proved a lot of them, that in many ways should ease the pain of hair removal (massage, poor effect on me, adding a section to be frozen before use, worked in some way just is hard to remember to put it in the freezer hours before, the problem is that in this painful operation even freezes your skin) for me this far the most successful.

This epilator can be used for wet and dry epilation. I always use it in the bath or during shower, where it causes me much less pain. The soothing effect of hot water for me is such that pain on a scale of 1-10 maybe reachs two, with the constant use the pain is reduced, the habit helped, of course i tried other methods but to no success so i stick with this.

Since I have it hair growth is forbidden in winter and summer. On the forearms is enough to use it every two months because the hair are much thinner and less concentrated than before. On the legs I use it about once a month in winter and in summer a little more often, about two or three weeks, because as soon as I see a couple of hairs it’s epilation time! So it seems simpler and more beautiful because it is enough just a few minutes, and as hair decreases in quantity and thickness so does the pain. Before epilation i like to scrub and luckily I do not have problems with ingrown hairs. As sometimes occurs, especially on the arms, a little redness is always showing after epilation so i do it in the evening so the skin by morning with a little nourishing cream or milk for the body is good as new.

I’ve never tried to use it under the armpits or groin because i am simply too much of a coward for these experiments, so I do not know how it would be painful 😛 It is bundled with the braces and extensions for shaving and trimming. It has a built-in light that helps in the hunt for the smallest hair, a removable head that follows the contours of the body beautifully and the massage rollers. Without cable you can use about 40 minutes.

If you are not hypersensitive to pain caused by this plucking process and you do not have problems with sensitive surface’s capillaries this is a good method for long-lasting, easy and quick removal of hair and eventually get a thinning effect. After prolonged use, it saves time and money because once you buy one, you will not need to buy a regular means of shaving, epilation… or go to beauty salons, and since the situation becomes considerably less hairy the whole process should be taking less time.

Have you tried this epilator or something similar? What are your experiences? What is your favorite means of hair removal? 🙂

Papavero Soave Acqua di Profumo from L’Erbolario

Through the dancing poppies

stole A breeze

most softly lulling to my soul

John Keats

This fragrance is deep, sweet and warm, somewhat oriental and very seductive.

I ranked it somewhere in the category Casmir and Opium that reminds me.

Perhaps someone believes it’s more suitable for autumn and winter, but I love it just now in the spring when dancing fields of red poppies call back to it.

It opens with fresh notes of ripe peaches with a little fresh tangerines.

With skin blends with delicate floral notes of jasmine, but here was somewhere the smell of poppies. Although they say that they have no smell, I recently sniffed them and some are not overly flowery, specific smell is felt in their silk, the sunny petals and the perfume.

For long on skin remain warm, soft and sweet tones of vanilla with woody, aromatic notes. They all offer some uniqueness and contribute to making the smell not too sweet.

On the skin is durable, lasts for hours and so enjoyable that i can not stop sniffing it.

I would say that this feminine, hypnotic, for me a typical Italian perfume 🙂 perfect for romantic evenings 🙂

The bottle is typical of L’Erbolario perfumes, simple, in vintage style. Captures the attention with his deep, fiery red poppies.

Scent notes

Top notes: peach pulp, pulp red mandarin, prunella (fragrances that are felt as soon as the perfume sprayed on the skin)

Middle notes: Rose petals, artemisia, snowdrop, ylang ylang, lilac, neroli, jasmine, poppy petals (fragrances that they feel a few hours after application)

Lower or base notes: sandalwood, musk, amber, vanilla and patchouli (fragrances that linger longest in the skin).

L’Erbolario is one of my favorite brands. I love these natural cosmetics, which have the quality and sweet packaging and that special, unique story, the rimes with every line.

Ingredients:

Alcohol denat, profumo/parfum, aqua, tocopheryl acetate, benzophenone 3, citric acid, benzyl benzoate, cinnamyl alcohol, hydroxycitronellal, hydroxyisohexyl 3 cyclohexene carboxaldehyde, linalool.

Price 50ml – kn 180 (26$), is very good for this perfume if you like this type, surely you want in your collection.

L’Erbolario products are not tested on animals 🙂

Have you tried any of the L’Erbolario cosmetics? How do you like them?

My Autumn/Winter hand care

_DSC0096_telecinetwarm

My hands are the first body part that feels the arrival of colder weather and it shows, but after a week or two i get very dry and chapped skin. Colder weather, wind, stay in a dry heated area, warmer water when washing hands…

my stressed already and naturally sensitive skin becomes dry and cracked as it becomes more frequent the occurrence of cuticle and finger nail problems.

So aside from the usual all the year long cautions i:

always when washing dishes, laundry, house… wear gloves

use a mild soap that does not dry out

always have near hand cream

I have to introduce some changes in the care of hands.
_DSC0080_shadowlift

First lighter cream, the one I use in summer change to a nourishing one, if possible with a more natural composition that contains eg. almond oil, argan oil, macadamia oil, avocado oil, shea butter, vitamin E … rather than paraffin, petroleum jelly, mineral oil, refined vegetable oils, silicones… (forming a protective film on the skin, which prevents water loss but also normal breathing and skin absorption of nutrients into the skin, you put the cream very often and short term it helps but long term the skin will always be dry).

and trying to remember to use a little more often: after washing your hands, before you leave, before bedtime…

_DSC0093_shadowlift

L’Occitane Shea Hand Cream most suits me (150 ml 176.70kn or 26$) i currently still have it, because more often when buying the wallet decides more than the head, so it is only important that the cream helps and not the few proven carcinogenic substances prohibited in a number of countries.

We use the most “Natura Siberica Oblepikha” hand cream (75ml – 27.70kn or 4$), I quickly passed to the Natura Siberica protective hand cream, that is more nutritious than what I have now.

_DSC0088_shadowlift

I often use oleoTHERAPY cold pressed almond oil (100 ml kn 54.45 or $8), or add a little cream I use to rub hands, then yet again, add a little cream, because I do not like the smell 😛

Periodically (once or twice a week) i peel the back of my hands. For that i use this simple DIY, approximately mix a little sugar, a little olive, coconut or almond oil and a little lemon juice, rub your hands until the sugar is dissolved and washed or when I have a face or body scrub and love to use it on your hands (when i did not have an attack of nomoneynitis).

To me it’s very good Natura Siberica Mild Scrub Cream (150ml 42.80kn or 6$). Gently cleanses the skin and leaves it refreshed and beautifully soft.
_DSC0081_shadowlift

Of course beautifully manicured hands are not completely manicured nails and cuticles. After massaging almond oil, rubbing a little Burts bee balm , push a little bit cuticles with a wooden stick (less you are touching it and cutting it and less troubles and sores you will get tearing it).

_DSC0102

Cut, shape and polish finger nails also once a week with an emery board 1/4, currently have essence studio nails 4in1 nail file (12.90kn), which is fine with me as far as the action only lasts for a short time 😛

Very quickly, after only a week of regular care, you can see changes in the hands, the skin looks healthier and fresher and the nails brighter.
_DSC0093_telecine_netwarm

With all of the above said to have skin and nails healthier and to feel better you need to be careful to what you eat and to drink enough.
I during the colder weather do not feel the need to drink more water and that contributes to the dehydration of the skin.

Solve the problem by making larger quantities of your favorite tea. My favorite is green, mixed with some fruit, ginger, now I’m thrilled by tea Veli’s Nettle and Lavender, has just the right amount of lavender and wonderful smell that is not too strong, the taste is nice and relaxing, Ahmad green tea with maple syrup, which is so different from the others, has unusual taste, some kind of a mix of nuts and liquid caramel… making lemonades or fresh fruit juices, which helps to get a sufficient amount of fluid and to feel better by strengthening the immune system in these gloomy days. We most often drink mix of apples, carrots, mandarin, pomegranate and ginger.

_DSC0083_out

I drink an elixir of honey (centrifugate ginger and add the same amount of honey in a glass and mix it, put two / three tablespoons of this syrup and water) I find this drink fine and I’m attracted to drink a lot…

I try to eat as healthy as possible, as many seasonal vegetables and fruits as possible. I almost completely removed snacks and sweets, and replaced them with hazelnuts, walnuts, almonds, dried fruit and dark chocolate, i am currently into the chestnuts and mix of nuts, apples, cranberries, honey and cinnamon now my favorite dessert. The last couple of years, since I strongly reduced sugar income i have a feeling that I’d estrange from it, because now when I eat something with lot of sugar i quickly stop disgusted. 😛

_DSC0111_warm-spot-focus_cut

I do not like very heated room and never will do, when I see someone who, with sub-zero temperatures, has a so warm house that has to stay in a T-shirt. My skin after a very short time on such premises reacts very violently 😛 hour home is moderately heated and we wear jumper and often ventilate space.

_DSC0096_shadowlift

And finally, treat yourself with some lovely nail polish, thereby still better to make sure that the list of ingredients do not have some of the most harmful ingredients (toluene, formaldehyde, di butyl phthalates, camphor), remove varnish without acetone, because when you see them with your favorite color or manicure, it will encourage you to nurture them and make them look better 😉 .

Are you enjoying the cool autumn days? How you take care of yourself and your own hands?

Ziaja goat’s milk hand & nail cream

This cream for the hands and nails is intended for dry and wrinkle prone skin.

Light, not greasy texture that is quickly absorbed.

It leaves the skin soft and silky, with a protective film that I feel on my hands until i do not wash them, when washing hands an hour or two after application i feel like I have something on my hands I do not use soap 🙂
Is enough a small amount and does not need to be applied too often, although I have dry hands.

It seems to me i achieved a good effect on the quality of the nails because it helped me avoid broken finger nails, thing often happening when I do not use enough nourishing hand cream.

The smell is quite intense and strong intensity is maintained for half an hour, not unpleasant, but somehow for me too simple. The good news is it does not smell like goat milk 😛 but now we go to the “Yes, I know I’m crazy” 🙂 moment of the day, it irresistibly reminds me of the soap in Autogrill: D

Packaging has an interesting look, simple and convenient to use.

Ingredients that should help the effectiveness of the cream are:

extract of goat milk
provitamin B5 (D-panthenol)
vitamin A
vitamin E

Ingredients

Aqua (Water), Cyclomethicone, Dimethiconol, Cetearyl Alcohol, PEG-20 Stearate, Polyacrylamide, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Laureth-7, Panthenol, Tocopheryl Acetate, Lactobacillus/Milk Solids/Glycine Soja (Soybean) Oil Ferment, Cyclodextrin, Propylene Glycol, Goat Milk Extract, Retinyl Palmitate, Phenoxyethanol, Methylpsraben, Ethylparaben, Parfum (Fragrance), Linalool, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Citronellol, Hexyl Cinnamal, Geraniol, Eugenol, Benzyl Salicylate, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Coumarin, Limonene, Citric Acid.

The cream is dermatologically and allergy tested, pH neutral, not tested on animals.

Now I’m at the end of it and hands and nails are ok but it is not among my favorites, and I would not buy it again because I do not like cream that leaves the tactile coating (having silicone in the composition), if it does not bother you having parabens in the ingredients, this is quite ok cream with reasonable price.
Price 80 ml – 15kn(3$).

A bit of goat milk 🙂

A few years ago I began run into lot of articles about the harmful effects of cow’s milk on our health including increased tendency to arteriosclerosis, increased risk of certain types of cancer, osteoporosis, allergies, asthma…

Looking for a replacement I picked the goat milk. In the beginning taste and smell are repulsive, now after a few years i cannot feel anything bad about it, indeed I am glad to drink it. Why I chose to substitute goat’s milk? Because it is one of thethe healthiest foods. Its composition is most similar to human breast milk. It helps in the treatment of bronchitis, combating allergies, strengthening the immune system, fighting stress… has anti-cancer, anti-bacterial and anti-allergic effects.

In the cosmetics was used for centuries. It is a natural emollient, soothes and moisturizes the skin. Provides a natural exfoliation of dry skin. Caseins from goat’s milk is easily absorbed into the skin, and help fast hydration of dry skin. It contains vitamins A, B6, B12, and E, and about 3.5% fat, caprylic and capric acid, which maintains the natural pH of the skin.

So next time when you need milk, quickly to the market and looking for grannies who sell fresh goat milk;)

Have you tried this face cream? Is your hand liking it? 🙂 I am currently looking for a new one, which do you recommend?

Burt’s bees – Beeswax lip balm

100 % natural

Burt’s Bees lip balm from beeswax Vitamin E and peppermint

Nourishes, hydrates, refreshes (and it tickles a little :))
IMG_0988.JPG

How I love natural cosmetics and fall for a vintage look packaging is not surprising that I was recently walking through Muller while i found myself just in front of the shelf with Burt’s Bees products 🙂

Burt’s Bees is a brand created in 1984 in Maine, USA from the collaboration of the artist Roxanne Quimby who was in her wandering in USA, Hitchhiking encountered a beekeeper, Burt Shavitza (bearded dude which you can see on the boxes :)) and they quickly start a cooperation. Initially Roxanne crafted candles, which rapidly were in high demand. Since 1991, they started with the production of lip balm, according to a recipe from the 19th century, which quickly became a bestseller.

With the motto Nature knows best, Burt’s Bees products are made from 99% to 100% natural ingredients (in the 99% natural composition products phenoxyethanol is used as preservative).

Knowing that I could never have too much lip balm, because they are nonstop used and because after a while they just disappear somewhere in the Bermuda Triangle of my apartment, I first decided to test this kind of product.

This lip balm is made from 100% natural ingredients, in these cases is not a problem for me and a small concession is granted in terms of imperfect scent, packaging …

But… In this case, all is good, natural ingredients, good care and hydration of the lips, pleasant taste and smell. I have not tried it on cracked, very dry lips, so I do not know how to act in that case. I use it now in this cold and windy, stormy (dry) weather very often, cracks or dryness did not come and I’m very satisfied with the condition, the softness of the lips 🙂 Like the addition of mint because it acts very refreshing and someway tickling, every time it is applied the smell is very pleasant, simply natural and refreshing, although I do not know why, the first time i applied it I was disappointed by feeling just the smell of peppermint, my nose was probably expecting some sweet honey notes version.
IMG_0986.JPG

The texture is quite thick but easy to spread and does not leave a sticky, heavy layer on the lips, or white residues but to the contrary, remains on the lips for a long time a light, smooth, transparent, fresh film 🙂

Packaging, may at first sight look a bit strange, because of the bearded old man, the box, really cute, with its warm, sunny colors and the bees, is vintage.

Do you use a lip balm? What are your favorite? Have you tried some of Burt’s Bees products? I do have a few on my wish list 🙂
